I recently came across a super hero movie blog (CBMB) that was discussing the comments of another blog about comicbooks (comicbooks plus); the comic blog was in turn chewing over the idea recently thrown out there by a Captain America movie blog that Marvel comics was heavily pushing storylines set during the Second World War for its Captain America comics; this might not seem too surprising for a character that has been around since the 1940s, especially since the character was recently killed off by Marvel, however the suggestion was made that this is being done to subconsciously prepare comic fans for a future Captain America movie set during WW II. It has been heavily rumoured that the upcoming 2011 movie will be set during the Second World War.
Interesting theory. We definitely have more than enough time to see if this theory pans out or not. If you want to check out the original post for yourself you can do so at http://captainamericamovie.blogspot.com/
