A site that is off the beaten Rival crockpot path

Site: http://rivalcrockpot.blogspot.com/

I have reviewed crock pot sites before but I wanted to mention this one just because it is a blog that has kind of gone somewhat off the beaten path. After browsing through its archives somewhat, I realized that this site, which seems to have started off as just another blog dedicated to the Rival crock pot, has evolved to the point where it is covering anything but your standard crock pot fare. It is kind of like when you are first getting into something like a slow cooker and you are browsing for recipe ideas and amongst all of the usual recipes for roast beef, spare ribs and fish stew you come across a recipe for coca cola chicken: the pattern interrupt of finding it there leaves an impression because it is so different from what was around it. That is kind of how I view this site. The author has gone on to discuss the merits of the maintenance of your slow cooker with the needed rival crockpot parts over the replacement of it, he has also made an effort to review the more unusual rival crock pot models currently on the market, such as the Crock Pot Trio, the crock pot bbq pit, the crock pot elume and the crock pot versaware. He doesn't post very frequently but when he does it is worth the time it takes to stop and read what he has on his mind.
